Staren voor Spieren
There are 20,000 children in the Netherlands living with a muscle disease. These conditions are rare, often progressive, and a proper diagnosis can take far too long, let alone access to new treatments. Spieren voor Spieren is fully committed to defeating muscle diseases in children. It’s an ambitious goal, and reaching it takes significant funding and collaboration. That’s why Spieren voor Spieren brings together as many people as possible who are ready to go all in. People who know what it means to push through, even when it’s tough. Every step brings us closer to a cure.

Pause for Movement
An activation is our opportunity to tell a client’s story with real impact. That’s exactly what we did for Spieren voor Spieren. Their 25th anniversary marked a powerful moment to spotlight their mission: to defeat all muscle diseases in children.
Staring for Muscles
We created the concept Staren voor Spieren (Staring for Muscles) and brought it to life at Utrecht Central Station. In a small stadium setup, Minke Booij invited passersby, (child) ambassadors, and supporters to take part in a simple but powerful act:
Can you hold your gaze for 25 seconds for children with a muscle disease?

Ambassadors
Spieren voor Spieren can’t defeat muscle diseases in children on its own. Throughout the year, well-known athletes and (child) ambassadors lend their voices to raise awareness and funds. Just like they did on this day, with the support of judoka Henk Grol, former cyclist Erik Dekker, former top hockey player Minke Booij, and retired volleyball star Manon Nummerdor-Flier.
