Royal Opening
In 2023, Tergooi MC (Tergooi Medical Center) opened the doors to its brand-new hospital in Hilversum. Surrounded by nature and equipped with modern facilities, it places every patient at the heart of care—as an individual with unique needs. The focus is on delivering healthcare that seamlessly fits each personal situation, always in close collaboration with care partners.
Creating an experience
Proud of their new hospital, Tergooi MC was looking for a creative partner to create an official opening and, above all, an experience. A special day with the vision “Zorg Moet Samen)” as a starting point, where employees in particular are not forgotten.

The opening
The day of the official opening was steeped in meaning and symbolism. A plenary program for 300 guests, including His Majesty the King, with speakers such as the (deputy) mayor of Hilversum. Special speeches, a unique Tergooi song and, as a highlight, a creative opening act by King Willem-Alexander, officially opening the new Tergooi hospital. A very important moment that called for a surprising 'ribbon cutting moment'.
The introductory video in the modern hospital turned into a dynamic live show with dancers using ribbons to connect the audience and stakeholders. His Majesty the King symbolically cut the ribbon with large scissors, followed by an informal tour.
Royal staff
Employees are the beating heart of Tergooi MC. Their indispensable role was highlighted in a special way at the opening. They were much more than just witnesses; they were active participants in this meaningful day. The festive activities for employees started early in the morning with a red carpet when they picked up their work clothes. A royal treat and surprise events in the hallways created a festive atmosphere.
The highlight was the symbolic cutting of a ribbon, supported by festively dressed ladies in a red/white/blue ribbon outfit. Because instead of a traditional ribbon-cutting moment, all employees were given the honor of opening the hospital themselves! In all departments, employees were invited to cut their own ribbon and attach it to their work clothes. This way, all employees, regardless of whether they were able to attend, were involved in the opening and put in the limelight.
A historic moment
The result was much more than an opening. It was a carefully planned production within the strict rules of protocols. Every detail from start to finish was prepared and fine-tuned to the second. And with results! 'A historic moment', as Tergooi himself described it. The event brought the new hospital into the limelight and also emphasized the close involvement of the employees. According to the King's Adjutant, it was a surprising and original opening, to which various media responded very positively. It exceeded the client's expectations and emphasized the essence of “Zorg Moet Samen”.
